Would not be concerned porting a low to mid level gun barrel, but would never port a high grade. Reducing the value of the gun substantially in after market. Different with pistols and rifles where the starting PSI is much higher and/or barrel length is shorter. Eg. 32" 12ga @ 10,000psi vs. 4" 9mm at 40k PSI.
