Web3 okt. 2024 · The technique has roots in China, where it was used to print on textiles. This type of relief print is created by carving a design into a thick block of wood. The design can either be drawn directly on the block or sketched on a piece of paper and glued or transferred to the wood. Knives, chisels, and gouges are then used to bring out the image. WebLithography is based on the fact that water and grease do not mix. The image is drawn or painted on the stone or metal plate with greasy litho crayon or a greasy black ink (tusche). Once the drawing is finished, it is fixed with an etch to prevent the spreading of the grease.
