A completely different power band, pulls very strong from 3k and up. I only have 850 miles before the weather turned so not a lot of saddle time.

Enjoy the EVO and the easy to use cam chest, and the non-overheating everything, simple ignition, over abudance of parts......etc....... WebHarley has done a good job designing them both to be reliable and fail-proof. But there is no denying that a Twin Cam has less of a mechanical hassle than Evo. Go for a Twin Cam if you’re not too mechanically inclined and wouldn’t want to work on your bike with a wrench. There is no waste of sparks because the ignition system has dual coils.
WebJul 13, 2010 · Post 1991 engines had the always-failing INA inner cam bearing. Pre-1996 engines had the thin axle tappets that failed and ruined engines. Hence the "B" lifters that came out, to fix the issue. Then there's the pre 1996 base gasket leakers...... All this stuff was remedied, but just like the TC engine, the Evo had it's share of quirks.
